our team enjoys the challenge of new and interesting design and is committed to ongoing training, new product initiatives and building industry exposer.
impact design consultants considers the issues of the environment and will provide resources to explore a more sustainable out come. our commitment to the client, to meet their needs, to assist through the entire building project is at the fore-front of our plight.
july 2000 saw the birth of a relatively small, but progressive design company named impact design consultants (idc). The inspiration in the mind of the creator was to fill a niche in the market that was, and largely still is, being ignored by other design/drafting organisations and this was to impact high for client needs, but be conscious of the impact on the environment. At the same time as staying true to the original brief we concluded we also need to commit to delivering relevant, smart designs which were in line with the client budget limitations.
darren whelan, a registerd architectural draftsperson, and owner/director of idc, is well and truly qualified to lead his organisation with over 19 years working within the residential and commercial design industry.
before starting idc darren had stints as an employee at a couple of well known giant’s of the housing/design industry. although extremely grateful for the experience and learning, it was soon evident to Darren that “bigger definitely isn’t always better”, and it was from here he decided to create a better model by incorporating the systems used by the giants but with a flexible, common sense approach. In other words: give the clients what they dream of, and do it consistently every time
since its inception idc has involved itself in some spectacular commercial projects, and although very keen to continue to push the boundaries with these seemingly budget-less projects, the idc designers are certainly just as excited about getting together with the owner of the slightly more humble residential project with the intentions of working with them to bring it to life. Projects consistently undertaken by idc vary from small renovations, upper storey extensions, new dwellings and multi-unit development. impact design consultants are not architects, but building designers and registered building practitioners who are always on the lookout for smarter, more cost effective ways to build exactly what you want, but without the big consulting fees.
idc clients such as A.V. Jennings, Simonds Homes, Porter Davis Homes, St.Marina’s Consulting – KFC & Pizza Hut and Tattersalls have all helped our business obtain a unique, holistic understanding of the industry and its needs. The side effect of these relationships of course have helped produce a knowledge base far beyond most design organisations of the same size.
if you are looking for a design service orientated around client involvement and environmental awareness then impact design consultants can facilitate your needs.
the team that supports darren is enthusiastic and willing to learn new and creative approaches to design, along with the commitment to provide a quality service to the clients of impact design consultants.
